DEMENTIA-PROGRESS WITH COCO NUT OIL
I can't remember when exactly I started taking coco nut oil for my dementia, but I think that it was about two months ago.The fact that I don't remember the exact date doesn;t mean that the coco nut has not helped, in fact both I and Julian think that it has, but of course although one can slow down the progress of dementa, you can't go back to where you were before the damage to the brain.
However, the fact that Julian agrees that there has been some mprovement in my cognitve abilities is very re-assuring.Perhaps I ill outlive Alzheimer's! We who have dementia are not the best judges of memory progress or otherwise, it is our caregivers who can make a more balanced judgement.
Although I found the original coco nut oil very oily and unpalatable, we subsequently discovered one with no odour. We add this to porridge oats in the mornings and the two combined are very enjoyable.
The weather here in Paarl is cold, but sunny. I am a little worried about Boysie, one of the Jack Russells. He is off his food which is very unusual for him and if he is no better tomorrow we will go to the Doggie Doctor. The other dogs are fine, but Bobby the parrot doesn't like the cold much, but he loves watching television with us in the evenings.
