AS MY MEMORY FADES
As my memories fade;
So much more precious are those that still remain.
How I have lived so many dreams and lived so many lives;
And though I yearn for other things now spent and done;
My gilded memories will still remain.
I am content with that which I have done and grateful
for all that I was given;
For I can still see the setting sun, the dawn, the rain upon my face,
the buds of Spring and the Autumn flight of geese as they go elswhere to seek another place;
Their dark shapes moving like a cloud and honking in great bellows;
The sound of teir flight a sad farewll as they move on to find another sunny land.
