Dementia memory loss still surprises me, but coconut still helping with the brain box

Although the decline in my memory is on average only a drip a day it continues to surprise me how one can have sudden loss of chunks of memory after weeks of no loss at all. It also still surprises me that as a writer I can often still recall a lost word that I have previously struggled for. This loss of the odd word is the only dificulty that I experience with my writing. In fact it surprises me how well the flow of petry is going. It seems as if when tapped, the 'well' of ones memory has a very deep amount of emotion stored away. The conclusions that I have reached are that for me personally dementia has made me more emotional in the sense that I more readily am affected by a sad passage in a book or sad scene in a film. It has also made me more intuitive I think and also taught me that a lot of memory can be recalled, if one is aware of the loss and makes an effort to recall. This is quite important for those like me in the early stages, but I immagine that it no longer works in the latter stages of dementia or Alzheimer's because you just don't know about the memory loss. My own position remains comfortable with no known memory loss this week and I would say a marginal improvement in cognitive abilities. Theoretically this shouldn't be possible, as we are told that one cannot repair damage already done. However, it seems to be the case with me. The only possible medical explanation might be the coconut oil in the diet. This really does seem to help. A lovely week, but one funny incident that proves that the old memory damage is still there. I went to the Mall to get some more coconut oil because the jar was empty. On my return Julian laughed because I had already replaced the empty jar, having forgotten that I had done so. We are almost at the end of the winter season here in Paarl and today Spring seems to have arrived, with a beautiful sunny day and temperatures soaring after a cold early morning. Took the dogs for a run as usual and as usual the two Jack Russels were naughty and hid under the car when it was time to come home. Truly, the expert was write that told me that one Russel is very difficult to train and two impossible! David Barnato. Paarl. South Africa.
