MEMORY AND THE MAGIC CHOCOLATES

It is now about two weeks since I started taking coconut oil to stop further deterioration of the brain. Naturally, I am very hopeful that this food will work, as it has apparently for many others.
As my own dementia has been almost arrested through my diet and exercise plan it is difficult to gauge how effective this 'wonder food' really is. I will of course continue, as some even claim that some repair to the brain can take place, although it sounds rather optimistic where dementia has already caused damage.
However, I have to report that personally I find coconut oil very unpleasant to consume. The proponents mostly claim that it tastes good, but I have not found so. I found it rather nauseous to take in the doses recommended. As it comes in a tub and is a solidified white mass, it's a bit like eating coconut flavoured lard.
To make the product more palatable I have tried a number of ways to hide both the taste and texture. It wasn't too bed melted into porridge and masked by blueberry yoghourt, or even with ice cream and chocolate sauce, but the best I have found is in the form of chocolates.
These are easy to make, just melt a quantity of coconut in the microwave. Then add the same amount of coco powder, a modest amount of milk and a few teaspoons of honey. Pour into an ice cube tray and freeze for half an hour.Presto! You have the magic chocolates.
The recommended amount is a little complicated to calculate, but a teaspoon of coconut oil after each meal to start is recommended, so that would equate to roughly one ice cube size chocolate, which can be increased to six chocolates if required. Bear in mind that some people have allergies to coconut, so check with your doctor first.
My condition remains unchanged and my writing is going on very well. No further memory deterioration.
In the afternoons I read and currently I am re-reading 'The Blue Horizon' by Wilbur Smith. He remains my favourite author.
The Autumn weather is now a little cooler and we had a little rain two days ago, but the sun shines, so we still eat lunch outside.
We are missing our little bird who escaped and flew away into the sky. I think that Bobby the parrot also misses him, as he was a very chirpy little bird.
The dogs are all well and although of UK extraction they now bark fluently in Afrikaans.
Keep taking the tablets.
