HOW TO HELP YOUR MEMORY. DIET AND VITAMINS
A study of two groups of mice over nine months showed interesting results. Those fed on a high calorie and high carbohydrate diet all had plaques on the brain similar to those in humans that cause dementia and alzheimers. Those fed on a normal rodent diet had none Of course mice are't people, but the tests do seem to confirm very specifically that diet is a critical factor in memory loss and dementia.Scientists believe that the low carbohydrate and low calorie diet may have unleashed a chemical chain reaction that stopped the plaque development and thus stopped damage to the brain, experienced by dementia and alzheimer patients.
Another factor is vitamin intake. A study carried out over 5 years, of 4740 participants aged 65 and over, found that those on vitamins C and A supplements reduced their risk of alzheimers by 64%.
Magnisium is good for brain functioning and vitamin E is also believed specifically good for the brain and thus the memory.
Specific foods that help memory are one third of a cup of de-fatted soy flour daily, also strawberries, blueberries and blackberries.
Undoubtedly, good health is a huge factor in maintaining your memory and that means health of the body through exercise and diet, health of the mind through doing mentally challenging things like reading, studying etc., and health of the spirit, achieved through meditation and prayer.
The time to plan for an old age without dementia and alzheimers is when young.
By my complete change of lifestyle my own dementia is arrested and my overall health excellent.
Autumn is still present here in Paarl. Perfect weather with eating in the garden most days. Animals all fine!
Keep taking the tablets
